lyrics

Waves at dusk, there we raised our crimson sails
Iron blades glinting, moonlight now prevails
Hiding in wait, an ambush of fear
A terrified stare, an ending so near
Searching for the signs of sailing doom
In service of God, we may meet Him soon
An armored clash aboard their great war steed
Their dragon head sneers at the land we will free

Salted boots slam against the knotwork trim
They will fall
And the men scream and scatter in terror within
They will fall
Many bodies lay upon the field of wooden plank
They will fall
They swim for the shore, we drag them away
They will fall

By the first of darkness
Beneath the starlit sky
Bear the sacred honor
We ride
By the laws of justice
For which we fight
Board with us the longboat
We ride
Into the killing path
We sound our victory cry
Along the crimson shore
We ride

Waves at dusk, then we traverse perilous sea
Spears dipped and stained with blood now spilled
Visions of the end arriving in haste
Imposing their death before their trusted fates
The broken and the fled, the rending of shields
The all consuming tide washes red from skin
So shall you earn the wrath of the king
With sacred sword and hymn we will return his reign

Salted boots slam along the knotwork trim
They will fall
And the men scream and scatter in terror within
They will fall
Many bodies lay upon the field of wooden plank
They will fall
They swim for the shore, we drag them away
They will fall

By the first of darkness
Beneath the starlit sky
Bear the sacred honor
We ride
By the laws of justice
For which we fight
Board with us the longboat
We ride
Into the killing path
We sound our victory cry
Along the crimson shore
We ride
Ride
We Ride
Ride
We Ride

about

Âstillian Chicago, Illinois

Born from Chicago melodic metal veterans, Âstillian began to cast a vision for the Dark Age inspired metal project in late 2016. Their debut album, Waves at Dusk, is a concept album inspired by G.K. Chesterton’s, “The Ballad of the White Horse." It captures the inescapable misery and undeniable hope of the early middle ages; raiding hordes, mass migrations, and kingdoms rising through the discord. ... more
